A short stay in Honolulu, HI for a TAG meeting and WWW 2002.

In early May, I traveled to Honolulu, HI for a W3C TAG face-to-face meeting, for the W3C Advisory Committee (AC) meeting (where the TAG gave a panel session, and for WWW 2002.

Unfortunately, I took an indirect route, stopping for a few days in the bay area before continuing my journey to Hawai`i. This was just long enough to incubate whatever virus I contracted from the first plane journey and I spent several days feeling quite unwell.

And it rained a fair bit. Still, it's hard to complain about the views.

And I did get one chance to snorkle at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, which was very nice. (Note to self: is there a waterproof shell for my digital camera?)

Both the AC meeting and the conference had organized luauo (how do you spell that word?) events. Each featured polynesian cultural music and dances. The most impressive display was definitely the “fire knife dancer”.
