<para xml:id="p2">I’m writing this as I travel from Bristol eastward towards Oxford.
As
Tim
<link xlink:href="http://www.tbray.org/ongoing/When/200x/2003/10/07/Bristol">reported</link>,
most of the
<link xlink:href="http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/">TAG</link> found itself in
Bristol for a
<link xlink:href="http://www.w3.org/2003/10/06-tag.html">face-to-face</link> meeting.
Our goal: to stop writing. At least to stop writing the <emphasis>first</emphasis>
version of the
<link xlink:href="http://www.w3.org/TR/webarch/">Web Architecture</link> document.
I think we did pretty well. Last Call looks within striking distance this
year.</para>

and I arrived at Heathrow at more or less the same time and navigated
down here together; it was chilly but the sun was out so we went for a
Sunday-morning walk through the town.</para>

<para xml:id="p4">Aside from observing that I never had deranged visions of any
sort of takeover, hostile or otherwise, I don’t think I can improve on Tim’s
description of our sojourn through town, so I won’t try. Here, however,
are a few of my own snaps from Bristol.</para>

I’ll start a collection (of pictures, not placards), even though I
didn’t get the exposure quite right on this one.</para>
