No, I don’t mean the Herculean task your boss expects you to complete by next Tuesday, nor do I mean the eleven hundred comments your working group is expected to process. I mean that the deadlines for Extreme Markup Languages are upon us. (Which isn’t to say that the other deadlines aren’t extreme in their own way.)

If you want to participate in peer review, your application is due today. If you want to give a tutorial, your proposal is due today. And if you want to present your ideas to a few hundred of the most hardcore markup geeks around, your full paper is due on 16 Apr.
