Today is the summer solstice.

The longest day, at last! I always think it’s a little sad that it occurs so early in the summer.

Summer Solstice

Enjoy it while it lasts! The days start getting shorter again tomorrow. And do take a moment to look at the contrast in shadow profiles between today, the equinox and the winter solistice.

Happy Summer Solstice.

Comments:

Ah, but from down here in the southern hemisphere the days can only get longer.

Solstice day was cold, grey and rainy, but the pub was warm and the beer was good.

Might help in comparing the two solstices and the equinox if you put all three pictures on the same page!
