Murder in 1860?

The Pelham Murder?? Headstone Cache consists of two parts. There’s the actual cache, of course, and it was a struggle to find even though I was pretty sure I was standing right next to it (and I was).

But there’s also this very interesting headstone.

Spoiler warning: Looking at the large version of this image will give away part of the secret of the cache.

Packardville Road, where the cemetery is located, runs past at least one local reservoir.

Some of the water plants are blooming very late.

Comments:

Yes, Norman; it was a murder and Mary Felton was arrested and sent to prison for the murder of her husband... Warren's brother erected the grave in his honor. Most of the balance of the Gibbs Family is buried at Quabbin Park. This famly was a very early settler of the area and helped establish Greenwich.

I've read that Mary Felton was never prosecuted for her crime... and I wonder, where is she burried? Is there a stone proclaiming her innocence? I grew up in Belchertown, next door and have always been infatuated by this erie stone.
