A few random photographs from the Old Deerfield Craft Fair this past weekend, because I think one of them is sort of interesting. And on the subject of photography, a rave for hugin.

We went to the Deerfield Craft Fair this past weekend. It’s always a great gathering of crafters and artisans of all kinds.

Old Deerfield Craft Fair

If you’re in the area, and of an historical bent, Old Deerfield is worth a visit whether the craft fair is in town or not. Deerfield used to be the western frontier and there are homes dating back to that period. Several years ago we took a wonderful guided tour with a living history interpreter.

One of the craft fair exhibitors was selling hand made furniture. I thought the sky reflected in the mirrors was interesting. I didn’t even notice at the time that it was a self portrait.

On the subject of photography, I mentioned earlier that I’d report back when I’d had a chance to play with hugin . I’ve stitched a couple of images now and I’m still really impressed. Here’s one of my tests:

That’s an almost 180 degree panorama created by stitching five images together. As images go, not all that great, perhaps, but the stitching is invisible.

I’ll write up a little “how I did it” essay with a better image when I get the chance.
