A robin is building her nest in our Rhododendron. [Update: 3 June 2005: fledged.]
Here's hoping she successfully raises her brood.
20 May: A quick peek reveals at least one chick. I must have missed the “clutch of eggs” photo op while on vacation. I didn't want to disturb her any longer than I had to, so I didn't investigate whether that's a second egg or a fragment of shell next to her chick.
2 June: I've been on the road for 10 days and almost missed the fledging.
3 June: By yesterday evening the chick above had fledged. Deb tells me there were two chicks (answering my question above about the shell); one had already left by yesterday morning. I hope they fare well in the world.
