A small selection of flower photographs from our recent vacation in St. Thomas, USVI.
There are lots of flowers in bloom on St. Thomas. That's always a true statement. There are flowers in the Virgin Islands that bloom all year long: a strange concept to us New Englander's.
I set out one afternoon with a mind to photograph all of the different kinds of flowers that I could find within a short walk of the beach. I burned through two batteries in my camera and three compact flash cards before I decided I was just too damn hot and tired to continue. And that's just on one day in May!
There are a great many more photos like this in St Thomas: Flowers, May 2005 at Flickr.

Comments:
Hi, While doing a search for St. Thomas flowers I came acrossed your site. It looks like we were both there at the same time in 2004. In fact you went snorkeling on 5/17, that day I was married at the Marriot. It brought back alot of wonderful, happy memories for me looking at your pictures. I was looking for a hibiscus or orchid picture so I can use it for a tatoo I'd like to get to symbolize that special day. Maryann
The complete set of my flower pictures from this trip is available in a set on Flickr. I think there are a couple of Hibiscus photos in there, but I'm no botanist. I don't think there are any orchids, though.
But, Deb and I are heading back on 2 Feb 2006. I'll keep my eyes open for an orchid!
