We cleared the last hurdle. Many thanks to everyone involved!

We asked you to vote and you did.

Thank you!

XML Catalogs V1.1 is an OASIS Standard.

I'm also happy to report that my implementation of XML Catalog support, currently part of the xml-commons project at Apache, will ship as a standard part of the next Java™ release.

You've got a standard. You've got an implementation. What are you waiting for? I've been using catalogs for at least ten years, and XML Catalogs for at least five, so really, you can start deploying them today.

On a more personal level, I'd like to echo everything Lauren said. In spades. Thanks, Lauren, for leading us from start to finish. And thanks to everyone along the way for helping us get here.

Comments:

Fantastic news, Norm, on both counts. Catalogs have been a part of my XML toolset for (some number less than 5) years, and it's great to know that they will be standardized and widespread. (Looking forward to the day when I can retire the xml-commons-resolver DarwinPorts port...)
