I consider any interaction with DreamHost support that doesn't end with me getting a free month of hosting added to my account a failure: to their credit I've only had to contact them four times in four years, but the last two have been foolishness on their part similar to your case, leaving me two months better off. Now I have to figure out how to turn their complaint about my excess CPU usage (d'oh, I installed WordPress because they made it possible with just one click, and now they don't like having to have it use a quarter second of CPU per page view?) into another month of apology.

Hmm. No one offered me any free months of service. Oh, well.
