So much to do and so many other things to distract me. Now that I have the very cool Session Saver extension for Firefox, I'm much more apt to keep tabs open. Here, in no particular order, are some of the things that caught my attention. Just because it's so cool, let's start with Max Froumentin ’s textorizer. It takes a JPG image and a list of words and produces an SVG image. Très cool. Charles McCathieNevile explores the price of freedom. That is, the $50/minute it costs to run a standards meeting. Jonathan Marsh 's observation is relevant here, too. From the always interesting information aesthetics blog, a flickr color picker and a history of programming languages. Bob DuCharme started a general purpose blog. If you know Bob from his other postings, you're already subscribed. If you aren't, you should be. Welcome, Bob! On technical subjects, Tony Coates wrote about disk partitioning. It seemed apropos of my exploration of partitions under Solaris as part of my experiments with ZFS. And Phil Ringnalda shared some of his experiences with performance issues, just like mine. On a lighter note, you can tell a mitten from a glove can't you? And finally, may I suggest a PTO Martini? (Credit where it's due, this was Deb Walsh ’s inspiration.) Four parts Tanqueray 10, one part dry vermouth, and one generous part PTO. Très bon!
