The Maintenance Draft Review of the JAXP 1.4 Specification is now open.

The Java™ API for XML Processing (JAXP) 1.4 is winding it's way through the Java Community Process. Earlier this week, we released the specification for maintenance review. The review period closes on 8 Feb 2006.

On the JCP site, or through JAXP Sources area of Project Glassfish on java.net, you can find the review specification and a summary of the API changes since JAXP 1.3.

The biggest change is support for StAX Sources and Results. We've fixed some bugs too, but I'm feeling rather embarrassed at the moment about a couple that slipped through the cracks. Mea culpa! :-)
