Carrying an expensive camera into knee deep water in a boggy swamp at night does have its rewards.

Last time I tried to get peeper pictures, I went out in the rain with the little Canon and its waterproof housing. That didn't work so well. This time, I went out on a dry, warm night and convinced myself that if I was careful there was no significant risk of falling down or otherwise dropping my new camera into the swamp.

There are a few more shots on Flickr, but these are some of the best, I think:

I heard the first long, ineffably lovely trill of a toad last night, and the first short, chirpy trills of the gray treefrogs. I'm definitely going to have to get out into that swamp again.

And I think my office needs a terrarium.

Cute! But the link to peepersLoud.mp3 from your previous post is coming up empty.

That's very odd. The MP3 files disappeared. I uploaded them again. Sorry about that.
