(Just ignore the stalk of grass growing three feet tall on the right side of the image.) Remarkably, the rose bush (“bush” in this case being a euphemism for “single cane”) survived being trampled into oblivion this spring. In defense of photo sensors, which seem to have a hard time with red and magenta (the reasons for which I'm sure are explained in great detail somewhere on the web; I'm guessing it's because those colors are so dependent on a single set of photosites), this little rose is a light-sucking, eye-bending, almost painful R—E—D.
