I noticed recently that it's been a long time since I posted any photographs here. I'm not sure if that's a good thing (if you care about my photography, you can subscribe to my Flickr feed) or a bad thing (who has time to subscribe to, or follow, every possible feed for things of such limited significance as photographs taken by random people they know from the web?). Either way, I think I'll try to start posting more photographs. I'm working on my own Project 365, so there are more than the usual number. The TAG went to Vancouver last month for a face-to-face meeting. Here we are on the last day: Kudos to David Orchard (third from the left) and Deanna Warner (not shown) for excellent hosting. (The photo is a link, if you follow it, the Flickr page identifies all the participants.) It's easy to get up very early in the morning when you've travelled east-to-west, so I started with a five AM walk along the sea wall. The science center “golf ball” reflects picturesquely in False Creek. I took advantage of long exposures to take a couple of self portraits. I'm intrigued by the technique, but I don't think these are going to remain among my favorite examples. A ride around Stanley Park provided an opportunity for a few more shots. The Totem poles are really beautiful, if somewhat hard to capture, hand held in the pre-dawn light.
