It's time to make your summer plans to visit Montréal to participate in a great conference, mingle with great people, and just generally have a great time. If you're at all markup-inclined, it's the place to be.

As I've said before, Balisage is my favorite XML conference[1]. It's deeply geeky in the best possible way. I missed it in 2008, but it's pencilledinked into my calendar for next year.

Delightfully, the Call for Participation is already out. So is the announcement for the pre-conference symposium: Processing XML Efficiently: Overcoming Limits on Space, Time, or Bandwidth. Chaired by Michael Kay, that's going to be excellent.

And, seriously, it's not too early to start making your plans. Balisage is a peer reviewed conference, you need to get full papers in by April. (Yeah, I know, that sounds like ages from now, but you know how time flies…)

See you there!

[1]Full disclosure: I'm now credited as “an advisor” to the esteemed chairs.
