Flowers in the Rain

Volume 9, Issue 56; 03 Jun 2006; last modified 08 Oct 2010

It's raining again, but that's not all bad.

The earth laughs in flowers.

E. E. Cummings

My attention was initially drawn to the water droplets on the Euphorbia and the leaves of the Daylilies, but those photos weren't very successful.

The poppy bud came out pretty well, though I'm not sure the focus is as crisp as it could be. The poppy, poor thing, blossomed this morning and promptly got beaten down by the rain.

You've seen this Centaurea before. It looks a little downtrodden in the rain. It's the lilies that really stand out.

A little rain's not so bad.

Beautiful. What kind of a lens did you use for those?

Thanks. I took these with my Nikon 5700 (which doesn't have interchangeable lenses).
