I know using tables for layout in CSS is evil. I also know that life is too fucking short.—@ndw
@ndw you're forgiven, at least by me. the apparent nondeterminism of CSS is also an evil and we do well to spare ourselves!—@edd
@ndw try a css framework, check a list of them here http://bit.ly/W3rDN—@ruidlopes
@ndw And I suppose these two are related?—@JohnPelhamBlack
@ndw Have you considered 'display: table' instead of <table>? Is IE6 in the equation?—@asbjornu
@asbjornu I considered, even impl. display: table. But how is that really better? And padding-top doesn't behave correctly in FF.—@ndw
@ndw 'display: table' is better than <table> because presentation is separated properly from the markup. Without CSS it renders vertically.—@asbjornu
@asbjornu But why is vertical presentation w/o CSS a virtue? Do browsers that don't understand table markup do something else?—@ndw

Clients have found my Twitter stream. I am therefore, unquestionabl, working on nothing else. Ever. Even now. My dog is typing this for me.—@ndw

Toyota is going to buy back my truck (frame rust recall). And you know what, I'm not going to replace it. Reducing my carbon footprint, FTW!—@ndw
@ndw Good for you! How will you get around?—@shelleypowers
@shelleypowers We'll still have Deb's car. Things are a little too rural here to go totally public transport. But I think we don't need two—@ndw
@ndw Just think of what you'll save: upkeep, insurance, etc. Put the money away for a special holiday—@shelleypowers
@shelleypowers Yep. That's the plan! I can feel the South Pacific sand between my toes already.—@ndw

Dear Ars Technica, thanks for a thorough review of Snow Leopard. Now how about putting it on one, long page so I can read it easily?—@ndw
@ndw If that's the same article I'm reading now, I'd have run away screaming if it were all on the same page. Attention span not what it was—@ceri
@ceri That's the whole point. Let me scroll through it casting my eyes on the bits that interest me without all this fiddly clicking—@ndw

HTML5 Disasters in Making #1: "So SVG/MathML in HTML doesn't have to be well-formed XML?" http://bit.ly/13TVNl—@shelleypowers

You can't add Kindle books to your Amazon wish list. How odd.—@ndw
@ndw That's because someone else can't buy you Kindle books.—@shelleypowers
@shelleypowers Huh. I guess that makes sense. I use tit as a convenience, I don't expect others to buy from it. But maybe that's just me.—@ndw
@ndw I use mine for convenience too, but I'm always hopeful. I always put the new computer at the top....—@shelleypowers
