My word, the recursive dependencies behind Perl’s Net::Twitter module are many and
varied...and deep.—@ndw
@ndw You shouldn't play with Perl. You might get some on you and it's really hard to
get off.—@ronhitchens

If aliens did visit us, I'd be embarrassed to tell them we still dig fossil fuels
from the ground as a source of energy.—@neiltyson

It seems that one pre-conference day with 3 parallel tracks might not be enough for
#xmlprague Check out what'll happen http://t.co/3kbvfozq—@jirkakosek
@jirkakosek I wonder how many people constitute enough interest. And how I can go to the #DocBook and #XProc tracks simultaneously.—@ndw
@ndw We will see in Jan and decide about "tentative" events. We want to satisfy all communities,
but we don't want to fragment it too much—@jirkakosek
@jirkakosek Exactly.—@ndw
@sgmlguru For me it will be 2 weeks, actually. First week of SC34 meetíngs, then #xmlprague then XSLT/XQuery WG meetings—@jirkakosek

Two days copying video camera tapes in the background to make DVDs for my sister-in-law,
and Toast just deleted all the .dv files. Silently.—@ndw

Broken image URIs on “an error has occurred” page don’t inspire confidence that you’re
“aware of this issue” and are “working to resolve it”—@ndw
Tuesday at 09:26am
Here’s a thought. If you’re login page is busted, and you know I tried to login, how
about telling me when it’s back? Grumble.—@ndw

Longing for the olden days when pasting unformatted text was the state of the art
- and the default.—@simonstl

Oh, poo. My #XMLPrague paper wasn’t accepted. No cool compact syntax ideas for you then. Phtthpbh! (j/k,
I’ll try to get it onto a poster)—@ndw
@ndw What was your #XMLPrague paper about? Maybe we'll just have to discuss it over a beer ... I'll be there.—@jonathan_robie
@jonathan_robie Compact vs. XML syntaxes.—@ndw
@ndw In general? In data formats? In languages?—@jonathan_robie
@jonathan_robie In XML languages (RNG vs RNC, XQY vs. XQYX, XSLT vs Carrot, and XProc XML vs two
alternative compact syntaxes).—@ndw
@ndw Poort man, why you haven't put that your talk will be about compact XProc syntax
into abstract? #NoWayBackMachine—@jirkakosek
@ndw Awww that's a shame :( You're still coming right? Want to team up on my talk maybe?—@robinberjon
@robinberjon I’m still coming. I think Jirka’s going to persuade me to moderate a panel or something.
But send me mail if you’re serious.—@ndw

Nice. #AXIOM cancelled my trip that was “on hold”. I’d have booked it if I could fscking login.
“An error has occurred” 2 days in a row.—@ndw
@ndw this is usually when I give up and call the 1 800 number... I like to be Indy and
all, but not at the expense of 3 H to do a 10 m task.—@JeanKaplansky
@JeanKaplansky Yeah. Doing that now. I hate talking to humans.—@ndw

Math puzzle with a surprising answer http://t.co/K4lSNjq0—@mschireson
@mschireson Hint: if Max asks you a math puzzle, odds are xor will be involved.—@hunterhacker
@mschireson choose one hat color and count them ... if 7 then you have that color, if 8 then
you have the other color—@xquery
@xquery not necessarily 8 of each, I will clarify on my blog.—@mschireson
@mschireson I kind of figured it wouldn't be that easy ... w/o time for math, my 2nd guess is
best prob is for everyone to guess—@xquery
@xquery @mschireson I don’t think Max would have asked if there wasn’t a perfect solution. Not that I’ve
worked it out yet, or expect to.—@ndw

Anyone know how to turn off (or change) the kbd shortcut for screen capture. I want
Cmd-Shift-3 for something else.—@ndw
@ndw use the system settings/keyboard/shortcuts menu. At least it is buried there on OS

As for Net::Twitter, see Chris Thompon’s comment on jwz’s complaint about it: the ((only) somewhat) surprising explanation is that Twitter’s API is inconsistent and ever-changing… which has to be managed somehow by bindings authors.
