What is it?

This cable pokes through the wall.

Cable end
The white cable on the right edge is a CAT-5 ethernet cable that also goes through the wall.
Outside, both cables go to a junction box.

Junction box
In that box are the loose ends of the cables and an unmarked square of plastic that looks like it might have an antenna wrapped around it. No chips or electronics of any sort are evident.
What on earth was it?
Comments
Could it be FTTH?
Does the wire/cable have any part numbers on it?
