Is there really any archival format that even comes close to stable ink on acid-free
paper? #xmlprague—@ndw
@ndw start with reading about the OAIS reference model than go on to @EARKProject and read allready delivered documents—@karinbredenberg

@ndw Formats difficult for Digital Archives. Typically use original formats and emulate
or migrate. Happy to discuss @UkNatArchives with you—@adamretter
@doctortovey On average, less frequently than electronic media fail or fail to be readable. By
several orders of magnitude at least.—@ndw
@mkraetke @ndw @doctortovey i remember Computer World's coverage of the White Night Riot's collateral impact
on SF city data-center.—@n1vux
@ndw Maybe Bradbury had it right in Fahrenheit 451 - the human memory is the best archival
format there is? ;)—@doctortovey
@doctortovey Everything recorded in an oral tradition. I suppose that's about as persistent as
it gets. #XMLPrague—@ndw

@cowtowncoder - XInclude 1.1 now in Working Draft. Do you think anyone, anywhere might be interested
in adding 1.1 support to Woodstox? @ndw—@fostercharles
@fostercharles @ndw I don't recall anyone contributing patches or asking about that. There's probably
a Jira entry for it tho.—@cowtowncoder

I bought a Lenovo. Scrubbed the disk of course (cf NSA hacking of HD firmware) and
installed a decent OS. Not sure I'll buy another though.—@ndw
@ndw how did you scrub the fw?—@olivierjeulin
@olivierjeulin Not the firmware, just the ordinary OS. Actually, I might have simply swapped in
a new drive.—@ndw
@ndw @olivierjeulin How did you scrub the firmware of the drive you swapped in? How did you scrub the
PC's BIOS?—@thomasbeagle
@thomasbeagle @olivierjeulin Sorry, was unclear. I meant to imply that despite removing any Lenovo malware, I
was still at risk via firmware—@ndw
@ndw OK. At least you removed Lenovo's malware/adware, #superfish https://t.co/dTx2b7Ovzp—@olivierjeulin

RT @PacketPusher: I can't even. RT @ErrataRob: I extracted the #SuperFish certificate and cracked the password:
